How MyIMZone Works

The image shows how you reach the MyIMZone user joecool using your browser. You just put the url in your browser (http://myimzone.com/joecool) and it takes you to Joe Cool's MyIMZone Communication Home Page. Joe Cool has setup all 4 IM systems with MyIMZone (MSN, AIM, Yahoo, Google). The page shows if Joe is online on any of the IM systems, and if so, allows you to start an IM session with Joe on whatever system Joe is using at the time (in this case MSN). You will send and receive messages through your browser and Joe will send and receive messages on his IM service (in this case MSN). In addition, if Joe is offline, you can leave an offline message which will be delivered when Joe logs into that IM service.

Joe Cool gives out his URL to those he wishes to be able to reach him, and friends can bookmark or click his link anytime they need to reach Joe. Two very important things should be mentioned. The first is that you do not need to be a member of any IM service and yet can still reach Joe on all 4 IM systems at any time through any browser. The second is that Joe now has a way for people to reach him instantly through any browser without exposing any of his information such as email, phone number, screen names, etc.

When you join MyIMZone (it is FREE), you select your url (i.e. http://myimzone.com/yourname) and then select the IM services that you use. For each IM service you use, you then provide the screen name for your account on that IM service and nothing more (i.e. no passwords or any other information is collected). That's it, you're done. The url http://myimzone.com/yourname will then take users to your MyIMZone Communications Home Page and they will be able to IM with you when you are online on any of the IM services you provided. Note that upon initial setup of an IM service screen name, MyIMZone will send a confirmation message to the screen name on the IM service. You will receive this message when you login to the IM service with the screen name provided. You can manage your account and add/remove IM services at any time by logging in from the MyIMZone Main Page.
