About MyIMZone

MyIMZone is used in conjunction with the current Big 4 IM systems (AIM, MSN, Yahoo, Google) to allow people to easily reach you on all of the Big 4 IM systems. MyIMZone provides the following services to its members:

  1. Communications URL for anyone using any browser to reach you while you are online on any of the Big 4 IM systems. The URL can be bookmarked, used as an email signature hyperlink, an icon in an email/message, etc.

  2. Visitors can reach you on any of the Big 4 IM systems without having to be a member of any system, using just their browser.

  3. Offline messages for all of the Big 4 IM systems. Visitors to your URL can leave you a message that will be delivered to you upon login to the IM system(s) you use/setup with MyIMZone. There is currently no universal offline messaging capability for any of the Big 4

  4. The Communications URL can be used for instant communications with you without exposing any private information such as email, phone number, IM screen name. This is especially useful for Internet commerce/barter sites such as EBay, Craig's List, etc. where you want potential customers to be able to reach you instantly, but don't want them to have your personal email or phone number. In addition, we do not require users to provide us with any IM system passwords, just the screen name/user id they use for the IM system

  5. Wireless IM from any wireless browser (newer versions) to any MyIMZone contact while they are online on any of the Big 4 IM systems.

  6. Webgadget you can drop onto your personal web page that shows if you are online on any of the Big 4 IM Services (AIM, MSN, Yahoo, Google) you setup with MyIMZone, right from your page. Vistors can then click the link to start an IM session with you or leave you an offline message.

  7. It is FREE!!!

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. How is MyIMZone different from other applications that allow for IM between the Big 4 IM systems, such as Miranda, Trillian, Meebo or Ebuddy?

All of these applications require users to replace their current IM client (AIM, MSN, Yahoo, Google) with their new application. Miranda, Trillian, Meebo, Ebuddy are all applications that run instead of the Big 4 IM applications (AIM, MSN, Yahoo, Google). The Big 4 IM apps provide tremendous functionality, including voice, video, cell/SMS, and many more features, so why replace them. MyIMZone provides a service that enhances and actually requires the usage of the Big 4 IM systems, so we don't want you to replace your favorite IM client, we just help people reach you on them.

  2. Does it cost anything?

No, MyIMZone is FREE. Join now to get your Communications URL while it is still available.

  3. What if I have a personal web page?

The MyIMZone WebGadget can be dropped on your personal web page. It will show visitors to your page your online status on any/all of the Big 4 IM systems you use/setup with MyIMZone, and allows the visitors to initiate an IM session with you or leave an offline message for you on the service. Click on the WebGadget link above and follow the instructions to add the html tag(s) to your personal web page or personal page.

  4. What about security?

MyIMZone provides three levels of protection for its users. The first is a dynamic image check that is part of the Communications URL which prevents spammers. The second is the ability for users to enable Join Confirmation, which provides an initial join confirmation notice at the start of the chat session, asking if you wish to join the chat session with the MyIMZone visitor. If you refuse to join the chat session, the visitor will not be able to send you any messages and the session will be closed. The third security feature available is an optional password protection of the MyIMZone Communications URL. Users can choose to password protect their Communications URL which prevents anyone from accessing the page without the password. Users can also provide a password hint to help those that may have forgotten the password.
